Say No To Bonds
The Yankees could definitely use another big bat in their injured lineup, but the last thing they need is another 40 year old on the decline of his career. The Yankees have been going in a new direction as they now are building up their farm system and sticking with youth, so why would they go back to their old ways? Haven't they learned from their past mistakes?
Do the names Kevin Brown or Randy Johnson ring a bell? All old players the Yankees signed after they hit the high point in their careers.
I understand that fans of the Yankees don't want to wait for future success and want victories right now. However, the best thing the Yankees could do is keep following the same plan because it will most definitely work out well.
The Yankees now have one of the top farm systems in baseball, a farm system full of future Yankee greats. If they pursue Bonds they will probably fall back to their old ways and start dealing their young talent. The Yankees need to stop now before they fall back into an uncontrollable death trap.
Not only is it a terrible idea to sign Barry Bonds, but it is also an absolute insult to close out The House That Ruth Built with the man who made his way to the top by cheating.

As a Yankees fan, I do not want to sign the guy that has a head the size of a beach ball and looks as bulked up as the Michellin Tire man. Hopefully, they don't cave into signing this club house toxic narcissistic. They go out and sign Richie Sexton, another has-been who bats right handed and has death valley staring him in he face. 20/20 is hindsight, but I am regretting not going for Santana given the Hughes/Kennedy failures.
